Some friends that used to gather at Harajuku RUDENESS (an apparel and music shop for skinheads and rudeboys run by an ex-member of the band) decided to put together the HARDSTOMPER 69 in December 2003; after a line-up change in December 2004 they became THE 69YOBSTERS in December 2004.
Of course, the theme of the band has been consistently the Skinhead Reggae.
THE 69YOBSTERS play a reggae heavily based on the massive organ sound that heated the streets in the 1970s and became so popular between the young british working class kids. They've devolped a unique energetic acting on stage with a rough style. It's the one and only skinhead reggae band in Japan, with a sound that gained a large following among not only skinheads, but also mods, punks and ska/reggae lovers.
