Reggae Dynamite Vol. 7

Volume 7 of Original Gravity’s boss reggae primer doubles down on pure, soul-soaked reggae, led by the label’s rising heavyweights Junior Dell and Donnoya Drake. This monster 45 is all heart, groove, and top-tier musicianship.

Side A finds Junior Dell, backed by the ever-tight D-Lites, delivering a smoking reggae rework of Smokey Robinson’s I Second That Emotion. Falsetto soaring, rhythm locked, it’s undeniable proof that reggae got soul to spare.

On the flip, Donnoya Drake channels classic Treasure Isle sweetness with Baby One More Time—not a cover, but a heartfelt plea for a little more lovin’, delivered with style.

Rounding out the release are two instrumental cuts: the chugging, Hammond-driven Boss Vibration and the faster-skanking, sax-led stomp Boss Steppin’. Together they introduce Boss Foundation, the new name for house band Woodfield Rd Allstars—because if reggae’s goin’ uptown, the name has to come correct!
