All of the tracks here were recorded during the Golden Age of Cuban Music, in the 1950’s and early 1960’s. Cuban music has contributed to the development of a wide variety of genres and styles around the globe. Examples include the son Cubano, guarachá, danzón, bolero, rhumba, Afro-Cuban jazz, salsa, and a wide variety of genres in Latin America. Many of these styles are represented on this outstanding collection, which presents 20 of Cuban Music’s greatest hits performed by the most celebrated Cuban stars.
